So you're looking to buy a drop kit for you 1973-1987 or 1988-1998 Chevy or GMC 2wd Truck and they all want to know if you have 1" or 1.25" thick rotors?
WHY does it matter!?
Well, these trucks were built with two different brake rotor thickness and in doing so they actually us a different spud in the spindle casting. They are both different lengths and widths.
We have you check and make that selection to ensure you do not have a rotor that will not fit on your spindle when you are neck deep in the install probably on the weekend!
The best and correct way to determine what your rotor thickness is on your truck is to measure the rotor between the brake pad surface. They should measue 1" or less for the 1" (LD) brakes and 1.10" or Larger for the 1.25" (HD) Brakes. As seen in the image below-
We hope this helps you figure out what your rotor thickness is when you go to lower your 1973-1987 Chevy & GMC C10 & R10 or your 1988-1998 Chevy C1500 Or GMC C1500!
